Tokyo, Japan - September 24th, 2025 - Shueisha Games is thrilled to announce Chronoscript: The Endless End, a brand-new 2D exploration action-adventure, developed by DeskWorks Inc. is coming to PlayStation 5 and Steam in 2026. A first-look announcement trailer and teaser visuals were revealed during Sony's latest State of Play showcase, highlighting the game's stunning dual-world design and hand-drawn art style.
In Chronoscript: The Endless End, players step into the role of an editor in AD 2026 who accepts a strange assignment at a remote mountain manor. After blacking out from a mosquito bite, he awakens inside a cursed manuscript of a thousand-year tale that refuses to end. To break the cycle and bring the tale to its final chapter, players must explore the inked world, uncover hidden truths, and confront the manuscript's corrupted denizens.
The game's core action unfolds in a richly illustrated 2D world, while 3D elements are used for cinematic impact - appearing in cutscenes, dynamic map reveals and enemy attacks that strike from beyond the book. Brief moments even pull players into the "real" 3D world through inky rifts, but the journey always returns to the manuscript's pages.
Chronoscript: The Endless End blends classic 2D action-adventure with fluid exploration, intense enemy encounters, and an unsettling hand-drawn style. The game launches in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Steam, localized in English, Japanese, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, Korean, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
