Fire Up Your Jet Ski, Explore New Locations & Customise Your Ship In The Latest Free Update To The Last Caretaker - Ocean: The Final Frontier
Update 02 expands exploration with new quests, new locations above and below the surface, sonar scanning, boat customization, and major performance improvements.
Helsinki, Finland - February 11th, 2026 - Channel37 today delivered its latest free update: Ocean - The Final Frontier, for the hit sci-fi survival-crafting game, The Last Caretaker, available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Game Store.
Featuring new story quests, locations, the JetSki (CS-17 Courier Skimmer), tools resources, customizable ship and major improvements to game performance updates. Additionally, caretakers can now scan deep ocean floors with sonar, Also there is a brand-new biome style with its own questline and new structures to uncover.
New story content includes two new quest lines for daring Caretakers, "The Maze" a transposium facility which features a new location that's easy to find, but easy to get lost in, and "Rocky Islands" which unlock the CS-17 Courier Skimmer in an all-new biome type.
Players can now personalize their vessel with 37 full boat paint styles, applied across four paint zones, creating a huge variety of combinations— all which can be scavenged from the world and are free to collect.
Additional improvements include better building visualization and snapping, new dismantling visual effects per material, animation and usability improvements, improved underwater visibility, more data logs, new achievements, and broad performance and stability upgrades across physics, rendering, buoyancy, cables, and UI.
As with previous updates, these additions reflect direct feedback from the growing Caretaker community. Channel37 continues to watch how players interact with the world, strengthen what matters most, and expand the game's systems.
