The four main game modes of Let's Build a Dungeon each offer a unique experience, ranging from a traditional management sim to an open sandbox full to the brim with accessible game making tools. The four modes are:
-
Campaign Mode - An in-depth game development simulation featuring studio management, game making and playtesting
-
Just Build Mode - A streamlined game development simulation focused on creative world building, solo or with friends, with a relaxing deck-building format
-
Creative Mode - An open sandbox packed with game-making tools and the option to playtest custom games and share them with friends
-
Dungeoneering - Community game library for exploring the latest curated titles made using Creative Mode
Campaign Mode
Campaign Mode is the core game dev simulation experience, inviting players to run a game studio and handle everything from hiring and firing and managing investor demands, to making morality-driven decisions about crunch, generative AI and more. Explore branching narratives as you navigate events including the proposed development of Buddyland, a satirical in-game title that mimics real-world challenges within the games industry. Every decision matters, and the studio's success hangs in the balance!
Just Build Mode
Just Build Mode strips away layers of complexity from Campaign Mode to deliver a low-pressure, creative experience for up to four players online. Focus on the joy of creation using a relaxing deck-building system to select new quest cards, asset packs and marketing activities to help your game level up to become the next big hit. Play solo or with friends, and vote together on how each game should be brought to life.
Creative Mode
Creative Mode functions as a game making playground powered by accessible game making tools. This open sandbox invites players to write their own stories, create dialogue and cutscenes, draw characters and adjust gameplay mechanics to develop their perfect game. Design anything from a cozy RPG to a sprawling dungeon labyrinth, with thousands of assets available for use including buildings, decorations and NPCs. Players can also use the creative tools to draw custom sprites and assets and let their imagination run wild.
Dungeoneering
Lastly, Dungeoneering is the hub for discovering curated, community creations made within Let's Build a Dungeon. Browse, share and play games made by others, including exclusive experiences made by the team at Springloaded.
Let's Build a Dungeon is a platform for creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. Whether managing a studio in Campaign Mode, building worlds with friends in Just Build Mode, or exploring community-made adventures in Dungeoneering, there's something on offer for everyone.
