SURVIVE THE SHIFTING TIDE: SUB-AQUATIC CITY BUILDER LIFE BELOW REVEALS NEW GAMEPLAY TRAILER
Playable demo also released on Steam & at gamescom - hall 7.1
Leicester, UK - 19th August 2025
A new gameplay trailer has been released for underwater city builder Life Below to coincide with its debut at gamescom 2025.
The new trailer shows off everything players will do in order to breathe life into the damaged reefs and save them from ever-changing challenges in a climate impacted ocean. From managing your reef by placing energy producing Moon Coral to crafting and placing lures to attract a biodiverse wildlife population, players will need to adapt to survive.
Developed by Norwegian studio, Megapop, and written by award winning video game writer Rhianna Pratchett, Life Below delivers a fresh and unique approach to the city building genre. Set in a near-future Earth, where the ocean is no longer what it used to be, the rules have changed - fast. Players will be immersed in a beautiful world, growing their reef, attracting wildlife to increase its biodiversity and evolving entire underwater ecosystems to survive the shifting tide.
Coral is dying and ecosystems are collapsing. The voice of nature tasks the player, as guardian Thalassa, to protect the Heart of the Reef and reignite life in the deep. By channeling its energy and growing new coral structures, she must bring life back to the underwater world before it's too late.
Life Below, scheduled for Windows PC release next year, will be available for the public to play in Hall 7.1.
Players not visiting the industry event in Cologne can experience the fully localised demo via the Life Below Steam page.
