As Alys, a freshly widowed Celtic warrior who refuses to accept the judgment of the gods, players will experience a story of loss and vengeance combined with stunning, fast-paced gameplay, slashing their way through hordes of enemies using a freeform, combo-based combat system that's as intuitive as it is gorgeous to behold!
Morrigan, the goddess of death, has taken away Alys' husband - but instead of meekly accepting their decision, she takes up her sword in defiance. Joined by the druid Abanus, the two embark on an epic journey to confront the Celtic pantheon, defy the fates, and challenge death itself to save her husband's soul from oblivion.
SoulQuest draws on the rich legacy of Celtic folklore and Arthurian myths, combining them with a crisp retro aesthetic and medieval-inspired soundtrack for an unforgettable experience across iconic areas of the British Isles. Thanks to frame-perfect animations and responsive controls, players add their own beauty to the landscape, cutting through enemies using a flurry of moves that are as beautiful as they are effective at dispatching them.
This beauty is made possible by the freeform combat system at the heart of the game. It allows players to combine light and heavy attacks into dozens of combos, smoothly flowing from one animation to another - and beyond melee lie magical abilities and ultimates, allowing each player to define their own play style and defeat the forces of fate as they see fit.
The intuitive system is easy to pick up, but leaves plenty of room for growth and mastery: Enemies come in relentless waves and effective mixing of melee, magic, and ultimate powers can turn a chaotic bloodbath into a visual feast, as Alys cleaves through the hordes with surprising grave - with player efforts recognized on a combat scale from F to the coveted SSS identifying the truly exceptional among players.
