Fatal Frame Inspired Game With A Cat Called The 18th Attic Coming Out Feb 2, 2026!
I'm reaching out from Steelkrill Studio (creators of the NYX Award Winning game The Backrooms 1998) to share news about our upcoming horror game, The 18th Attic. We've just released a new trailer and announced the launch date: February 2, 2026.
The game is inspired by Fatal Frame, featuring ghost photography with a Polaroid camera. When attacked, your sanity drops - and the only way to recover is by petting your cat that will always be with you. Think of something like Fatal Frame meets Resident Evil!
The 18th Attic is a sequel to The Stairway 7, which was played by Markiplier last year. Also one of our recent posts also went semi-viral on Imgur on the front page here explaining the mechanics of the game with the cat petting feature:
