Created by a biology teacher turned game developer, CritterGarden started as a passion project inspired by cozy creature-collecting games such as Viva Piñata. It has since evolved into its own unique game that the solo dev studio is thrilled to share with audiences. Whether you are a fan of creature collecting or farming sims, CritterGarden offers a little bit of both genres for everyone.
CritterGarden: A Planet Full of Possibilities!
What begins as a simple mission in outer space takes a turn when a shipwreck leaves you on a stranded, lifeless planet. Now, the fate of this planet depends on you! Lend a helping hand by putting your astrobiologist skills to good use: Gather plants, animals, recipes, and research upgrades to help the planet feel alive once again. Collect, breed, and evolve up to 96 cute and quirky Critters. You will also need to recover the lost parts of your ship for a safe return home!
Raise, Care, and Evolve Critters
To become a professional caregiver for your critters, you must understand their unique needs and follow their special diets to keep them happy and healthy enough to grow! In CritterGarden, you can unlock new critters by evolving the ones currently in your garden, allowing you to complete the Critter Tree of Life. You will have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of animals, including farm animals and livestock, as well as wild animals such as armadillos and kangaroos in the desert, polar bears and penguins in the Arctic, and even legendary creatures like Sasquatch and dragons. It is up to you to use your available resources and space wisely to maintain balanced ecosystems.
Sow, Harvest, repeat!
The first step to farming in CritterGarden, is you must select the appropriate biome and suitable soil to allow your crops to thrive. Just as Critters have specific needs, crops do too! Try out different techniques with your harvest to yield the best results. Check off every new item you obtain to achieve 100% journal completion of your Critter and Plant collection. Sell any surplus inventory items to purchase unlockable customized items, tools, farm layouts, and designs. Complete research upgrades to enhance the durability of your garden tools, allowing you to work faster, breed Critters more quickly, and earn currency more rapidly.
Complete mini games and discover the truth of the planet!
In your downtime, create your own distinguished gardens through crafting recipes, such as cactus gardens, mushroom gorges, and more! Play four classic arcade-style mini-games to collect all necessary missing ship parts. Throughout your journey, your robot companion will task you with quests filled with lore and valuable rewards. Gradually uncover the lore behind why the planet you've landed on is void of all life and what secrets your mysterious and helpful robot companion is hiding.
