Tuesday May 20th, 2025 - Dallas, Texas, USA. Today Colorgrave is pleased to announce that their enchanted woodland quest April Grove will be arriving on PC this summer. You are invited to explore, chop, and charm your way through the retro pixel-art wilds and discover the peaceful magic at your own pace.

Colorgrave is a small, story-driven game studio behind Prodigal, Curse Crackers, and Veritus. While originally founded as a book-writing venture, Colorgrave shifted to sharing its stories through games in 2020. Today, their passion for rich lore and immersive storytelling fuels everything they do and they're diving into something new with April Grove — a cozy, standalone forester journey full of charm, discovery, and woodland magic.

Chop it like it's hot or chill out among the trees

The charming forest settlement of April Grove needs a woodcutter, and this is your opportunity to pick up the axe gifted to you by a divine being and see what a career among the trees looks like for you. You're free to wander the woods at your own pace, chopping wood, meeting the locals and uncovering new locations.

 

The game's pace is entirely up to you. You might want to power through and unlock all of your axe upgrades as quickly as possible to become a lean, mean chopping machine... or you can take time to smell the flowers and pet the forest's furry residents (although we can't guarantee they will be happy about it).

Don't worry about the environmental impact of getting a bit chop-happy - the divine woodland beings are constantly replenishing the forest, so you'll never be short of a log or two.
