MULTIVERSE DESIGNER COMES TO STEAM EARLY ACCESS IN LATE Q2
Multiverse Designer will release its basic version as a free download on Steam; the Game Master edition that gives access to all assets and features and allows you to create games will be available as an in-game purchase
Toopan Games announced today that the 3D virtual tabletop and storytelling tool Multiverse Designer will release on Steam Early Access in late Q2 this year. Multiverse Designer is a powerful 3D map creator and virtual tabletop that gives you the power to create awe-inspiring maps and setpieces for all kinds of tabletop roleplaying games. Powered by Unreal Engine and with almost 10,000 3D assets available, Multiverse Designer allows you to create anything you can imagine – from massive vibrant cities of up to 64 km2 to smaller detailed locations, like a dungeon full of interactive items.
With its flexible Cutscene Editor you can design amazing cinematic scenes which, triggered by players' actions, can interact seamlessly with your games. And you can take all this to your gaming table, using your creations as a virtual tabletop for your favorite pen-and-paper roleplaying games. Finally, its powerful but intuitive visual scripting language Criteria allows users to create and implement their own rulesets, as complex as they want them to be – you can implement the entire ruleset of your favorite games, so Multiverse Designer takes care of all the rules-tracking and bookkeeping for you. Multiverse Designer will release with the core rules of D&D 5ed already implemented in Criteria for all players to use in their games.
Although Toopan Games will keep working towards the full release version of Multiverse Designer (which will include, among other things, the rulesets of a total of 5 games, plus other anticipated features like the Asset Spawner), the Early Access version is already fully usable and can be considered feature-complete. Multiverse Designer's basic version will release as a free download on Steam, which will include access to the map creator and Cutscene Editor with limited assets, plus the ability to join other people's games as a player. The Game Master version, which gives unrestricted access to all assets and allows you to create and direct multiplayer games as a GM, will be available as an in-game purchase.
