It turns out that this slumdog will not hunt. I hate myself for that pun. But it's true.

Fans were understandably excited when it was announced that director Danny Boyle would be directing the untitled Bond 25; the man is known for some pretty great stuff, most notably Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, The Beach, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, and Steve Jobs. His debut film, Shallow Grave, even won the BAFTA Award for Best British Film, and that was his debut flick.

Unfortunately, according to a statement on the official 007 website and Twitter account yesterday, the pairing will not happen after all.

"Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25."

Ah, creative differences. You say so much without really saying anything at all. Production on the upcoming flick was set to start in London this December, and the film had a British release date of October 25, 2019, with a US release set to follow two weeks later. Although it looks like Daniel Craig is signed up for sure to reprise the role of Bond, the series is now without a director, and time will tell if this switch in personnel will affect the release of the spy flick. They better hope not; the franchise tends to bring in loco cash, with Spectre bringing in almost 900 million, and Skyfall grossing over a billion dollars globally.
