Avengers Infinity War Crushes All Pre-Sale Records, But For The Life Of Me, I Can't Understand Why You CareNews | DLH.NET The Gaming People

This is the kind of meaningless record/information that I will never care about or understand. However, other people care about them, so I will dutifully report on them. Basically, Avengers: Infinity War has sold more tickets than Black Panther, making it the most pre-sold tickets to any Marvel movie. Which is 100% expected, as it has THE MOST Marvel characters in it, is THE LONGEST Marvel movie and it the culmination of about 10 years of films. So, this shouldn't really shock anyone. Black Panther setting the record was arguably a big deal, because no one gives a damn about the Black Panther (and don't even pretend you did before the film, no one even knew how to pronounce his real name until a month ago), and that movie crushed. It had a lot to do with the state of race in this country, and it was important that the "first" black superhero film destroyed all records, showing that you don't need to whitewash everything to get a good Marvel film.

Really though, who is going to read that Avengers: Infinity War broke pre-sale records and think literally anything but, "Huh." I mean, what does this information do for anyone? As if someone is going to read this article and go "Oh, well I guess I will go see the new Avengers then, since other people apparently are promising to see it by buying pre-sale tickets." Give me a break! You either care heavily or not at all at this point in the Marvel universe. No one is going to read a damned article about pre-sale tickets and make any kind of decision on anything. In fact, how is this even news? You know what it is? It's saying "This just in! People who want to see Avengers film prove it by buying tickets." I hate the damned internet sometimes.

But I digress.

Here is your precious Avengers news.

Avengers: Infinity War has already broken advance ticket sales records on Fandango.com. The upcoming film is rapidly tracking to become the best-selling superhero movie ever and in six hours no less. This makes Avengers: Infinity War the biggest selling pre-sold Marvel film since Black Panther, which usurped Civil War. You happy now? Now are you going to go see the film? Yeah. You were gonna see it the entire time.

Now, I'll treat you to some stupid facts from people who stopped to answer a survey as they bought pre-sale tickets. I can understand in, say, NY, where going to see a flick is a pain in the ass, with legitimate lines and hassle involved in just going to a theater. Anywhere else? The hell are you doing?

Fandango surveyed more than 1,000 Avengers: Infinity War pre-sale purchasers.
–97% can’t wait to see how dozens of heroes work together in the same film
–94% are excited to see different franchise characters (Guardians, Avengers, etc.)  meeting one another for the first time.
–92% see “Infinity War” as the culmination of all of the MCU films before it.
–87% have seen all of the MCU movies.
–71% saw Black Panther on the big screen.
–60% claim Black Panther made them even more excited to see Avengers: Infinity War.
