Legion was a surprise. Based on the Marvel Comics character David Haller / Legion, Haller is a mutant diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, and he also happens to be Professor X's son. The show walked an amazing tight-rope, at turns Sci-Fi, horror, thriller and mutant beat-em-up. It was thoughtful, scary and extremely watchable. I loved it, and I am stoked the second season has been confirmed.

After battling with the Shadow King, the end of season one had Haller whisked away by some sort of teleportation robot. The great thing about this show is that they haven't really tied it too tightly to the X-Men franchise; for example, they never address (or haven't yet) the fact that Haller is Professor Xavier's son, so pretty much anything can happen. I can't wait to see where they take it in the second season.

Noah Hawley serves as executive producer, along with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

FX has set Legion season 2 to premiere at 10 PM, Tuesday, April 3rd.
