We have been picking up every tidbit of news we can find on the upcoming Han Solo solo film, titled Solo: A Star Wars Story. Ron Howard is directing, and he's been playing things pretty close to the vest, with only little bits of info trickling down to the media. But today, we finally have something substantial- the official synopsis of the film!
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
We already know that Donald Glover is going to be Lando, which seems like a smart casting decision; that kid is all the rage right now, what with his rapping career as the Childish Gambino, and his television work in Community and most recently in Atlanta, which was very well received by critics. I'm also glad they are focusing on Lando and Han, since I always wanted to see those two rogues working side by side, in addition to watching Lando lose the Millennium Falcon to Han.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is slated for theatrical release on May 25th, 2018.
