Ubisoft just announced that South Park: The Fractured But Whole is available now on the Switch. We enjoyed the game quite a bit (check out our review here), but noted that if you aren't a South Park lover, this game is not going to be for you. Created, written and directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone and developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, SPTFBW has all over over the top offensive material that you'd expect from an episode of the show, and the gameplay is an upgraded version of the previous South Park: The Stick Of Truth. In short, the game is hilarious, and a lot of fun on it's own RPG merits.
In addition to the base game, Switch owners can purchase the first two pieces of add-on content, "Danger Deck" and "From Dusk Till Casa Bonita", or you can get them as part of the season pass. The third piece of add-on content, "Bring the Crunch", will also come to the Nintendo Switch when it releases this summer.
The basic premise of SPTFBW is suitably ridiculous: with crime on the rise in South Park, the town needs new heroes to come to the rescue. Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town, while also creating the best superhero franchise ever; Coon and Friends (obviously, Eric is The Coon). His team has to rumble with the goths, other super hero teams, gangs of 5th graders and more, while attempting to rescue missing kitties, claim a $100 reward and become the most popular franchise in town.
