Taking a page out of Resident Evil 7's book, The Evil Within 2 is doing something that is pretty badass; allowing players to roll through their terrifying sequel completely in first person mode. That's right; you can play the entire game as a FPS.
Let that sink in for a minute. What a time to live in.
Tango Gameworks has just launched a free update for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC that will enable the first person perspective, and if you already own the game (or if you are playing the free trial), you just have to go to the menu and flip a switch, and the perspective is changeable at any time, so if you get too scurrrrred, you can switch back to third person mode at will. If you are playing the trial, all your saved data will carry over to the full game, should you choose to buy the full product.
"A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game's situations through Sebastian's eyes, it's a really neat experience," said Tango Gameworks' producer, Shinsaku Ohara. "I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you're in third-person. Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs."
