Tron-Esque Philosophical Shooter,

Set in a sprawling cyberpunk city, Deceiver has you exploring your location using a first-person perspective and parkour movement mechanics. Fight with players online for control of the city by finding and unlocking terminals, which allow you to deploy and control spider drones. The drones act as your weapon here, as they are steerable little robot spider who can launch themselves through the air, to latch onto ceilings, walls, or just through an enemy's face. The combat looks pretty interesting, and the Tron vibe meshes well with the futuristic drone striking combat.

The story is pretty standard fare; the world is about to end and most people (the ones with money) have bailed off-world to a space colony. The rest of you wait to die. You assume the role of a man with no money, who also does not want to die. If you don't want front row tickets to the end of the world, you need to scrape some money together and get your ass into space. In a world where the only currency are dwindling resources, it's every man for himself. Steal, cheat and kill your way offworld before someone else does it to you first.

Featuring "true 3-D combat" Deceiver is the product of Helvetica Scenario, a one-man studio founded by Evan Todd in 2014.
