The Strange Man Series continues with The Crooked Man, the latest horror title from Uri Games. The Strange Men series is about troubled, ordinary people, who are just trying to get through the problems of their life. They then encounter the "strange men" who usually either help them or turn their world upside down in horrifying ways.

In The Crooked Man, you play as David Hoover, who has recently moved to a new apartment during a rather rough time in his life. In the midst of him struggling to deal with his current situation, David starts to experience some odd occurrences in his apartment, and decides it's best to ask a little about the former tenant. He discovers next to no information about the previous occupant, but finds himself strangely compelled to keep digging, hoping to find answers to his questions. There is also a nursery rhyme/children's book passage that plays a role in the mystery that reads:

There was a crooked man,
and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat,

which caught a crooked mouse,
and they all lived together
in a little crooked house.

Not sure what is so scary about that. To me, it sounds like a handicapped dude who took pity on a messed up cat, then got screwed on a real estate deal. However, I am always game to give a new horror title a shot, especially since this one claims to have multiple endings and "hardcore expressions of violence", which is an interesting way to say that there is gonna be some gory shit in here. I am a fan of most things horror though, so I will give this game a shot and let you know what I think in my upcoming review.

The other titles in the series, The Sand Man, The Boogie Man and The Hanged Man are all scheduled to release on Playism and Steam soon, and The Crooked Man is available now on Steam. Take a look at the trailer below to see if it's your bag.
