Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. is throwing down with a new chapter of the fan-favorite, weapons-based fighter, SoulCaliber!
Since the original Soul Blade released in arcades in 1995, Soulcaliber has pretty much been one of the biggest fighters around, especially among weapon based brawlers. The new game retains the series' signature 8-Way Run movement system, and takes some risks by integrating new gameplay systems like the Reversal Edge, which allows characters to clash against each other and follow-up with powerful counterattacks based on their opponent's actions.
Taking place in the 16th century, the game brings you back to the original Soulcaliber to uncover "hidden truths", and has a diverse lineup of new and returning characters with unique fighting styles including series mainstays; Mitsurugi and Sophitia.
"The fast and kinetic gameplay of Soulcaliber is on full display in ," said Mark Religioso, Brand Manager for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. "A stellar lineup of characters and weapons, combined with a simple control layout means gamers of all skill levels can jump into the action and decimate the competition."
Soulcaliber VI will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in 2018.
