From Sileni Studios and Soedesco:
It’s not the end of the world, it’s a beginning of a new one. A world in which the Mayan Death Robots blow great big holes in the lush landscape of Latin America in the name of alien televisual entertainment. As the Belgian soothsayers at Sileni Studios predicted, the full force of the killer alien robots has been unleashed today, with Mayan Death Robots available now for PC via Steam priced $14.99 plus a 10% discount for the first week.

A remarkable recent discovery in the jungles of Central America has inspired a short documentary film about the Mayan Death Robots phenomenon, which explains the chaos these mechanical aliens unleashed when they invaded our majestic planet. Check it out below.

Yes the Mayan Death Robots are here, using heavy arms to shake the gods from their eternal sleep, irritating the hell out of Spanish conquistadors, and generally smashing everything to hell, including each other. Choose your robot and launch into explosive one-on-one versus battles against friends in local multiplayer, or go head to head with the alien robot AI. It’s PvP, but not as we know it. The chaos keeps coming with both opponents taking their turns simultaneously for a maximum of Maya madness every time.

“We designed this game to be most fun played with a friend in local multiplayer, so I really recommend you do that if you can,” said Karel Crombecq, solo code wonk at Sileni Studios. “You can play against the AI and have a great time, but you’ll get the experience we wanted to give if you concentrate on knocking the crap out of a friend within close cursing distance. Enjoy!”

Published by Soedesco, Mayan Death Robots is out today for PC via Steam. The game is coming to consoles at a later date.
