EA, in cooperation with the NHL and the NHL Players' Association, have revealed the cover of EA Sports NHL 16 during the 2015 NHL Awards. The cover features three-time Stanley Cup champions Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks, marking the first time in EA Sports NHL history where the cover features two teammates, and the cup itself. Kane and Toews are also the only athletes to appear on an EA Sports NHL cover more than once. The focus of NHL 16 is "play together, win together", so it's a pretty appropriate cover.

EA Sports NHL 16 is set to hit shelves September 15th in North America and September 17th in Europe, and we be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 oweners can look forward to EA Sports NHL Legacy Edition, which will bring together the most popular modes and gameplay features from the past 9 years of NHL hockey with EA Sports.

Toews had this to say:

“I’m honored to not only share the Stanley Cup Championship with Patrick, but to share the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover with him too. Our team’s passion and dedication have made this all possible – and I’m sure fans will be fired up about it.”

As for Kane:
