Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense – New Screenshots and Update InfoVideo Game News Online, Gaming News

Paradox Interactive has released a few screenshots for the upcoming expansion to Europa Universalis IV, called Common Sense, a clear reference to Thomas Paine's seminal pamphlet of the same name. The expansion goes deeper into the governance of your territories, with provincial development, new options for subject states, and parliaments. There will also be new events for your subject states, a new theocracy government type, national churches, and some new features for the Buddhist nations of East Asia. And as always, the expasion will be launched alongside a free patch that updates many parts of the game whether you buy the expansion or not.

Other new features detailed in the press release:

  • New Fort System: No more tiny sieges blanketing every province; forts are rarer and stronger, requiring greater investment of manpower and money
  • Buildings Redone: fewer building types with greater effects to add variety and strategy to your construction plan
  • Major Map Changes:  The Low Countries now have more complicated politics, and parts of Italy, Germany, and Poland have become more detailed
  • Future Trade Goods: Before you colonize an overseas province, you now have a hint as to what treasures are coming your way
  • Reworked Diplomacy: Always fixing, always changing, always improving
Common Sense hits digital retailers on June 9th – get ready to rule a whole new world.
