Riga, Latvia, August 31, 2026 | HyperVR Games, the VR publisher and development studio behind Shave & Stuff and Titans Clinic, is thrilled to announce that their comedic, physics-driven prison escape simulator, Bad Inmate, is set to release on VR consoles October 15th, 2026.
Freedom, By Any Means Necessary
Bad Inmate puts players behind bars in a prison sandbox where the goal is simple: Escape. Guided by an inmate ally whose intelligence is matched only by his unpredictability, players will need to sneak past guards, steal keys, crawl through passages left unsealed (for reasons...), and turn ordinary objects into escape tools. With no single correct path to freedom, use your resources creatively to see just how messy your plans get before escape becomes a reality.
A Day in the Life (Behind Bars)
Each day, players have the choice to keep working on their escape plan, or get pulled into everything else prison life has to offer. Trade favors with your other inmates, test your luck (or your knuckles) in the sports yard, and even bankroll someone's moonshine racket; it's all fair game. Objects can be picked up, thrown, hidden, and used throughout the environment, turning each escape attempt into a clever operation, an elaborate prank, or a prison-wide disaster.
Friends, Fights, and Found Objects
In a yard full of inmates, each with their own agendas and alliances, it's up to you to choose who you trust and who's worth avoiding entirely. Should you find yourself in a fight, use the physics driven full-contact system to turn ordinary objects into hilarious weapons. If you can't find something to defend yourself with, make something using the crafting system. Repurposing objects into new tools might just be the unexpected solution to your problems.
